Banksy To Release Screenprint Edition for Ukraine Benefit
One of the world’s most famous artists, Banksy, who recently released a series of images and photos from his stencils he painted in Borodyanka, Ukraine, has now teamed with Legacy of War Foundation for a screen print in an edition of 50 to help their support efforts for the ongoing war. “In Ukraine I saw a Legacy of War team sweep in and provide medical attention, heaters, fresh water and a friendly face to some very desperate people in a bombed out building,” Banksy said of his support. “They also lent me one of their ambulances to work from, which turned out to be extremely useful when an angry babushka found me painting on her building and called the Police.…

Andrea Modica: Theatrum Equorum
Many curious feelings arise from the photographs in Andrea Modica’s new book, Theatrum Equorum. They emerge slowly, and sometimes surprisingly, between intentionally repetitive images of horses lying in repose, resting on beds of shredded paper, enclosed by dark, and featureless walls. It isn’t a context where we are accustomed to seeing horses. They are supposed to be outdoors, in a field, trotting off into the sunset. Still lifes made up of crude-looking surgical tools, presumably used to operate on these majestical creatures are interspersed, sometimes arranged carefully, other times in scattered, bloody piles.
